I personally liked the land much more before it was turned into the park-lovely golf course (and an area the local teens considered a bit of a lover's lane). when mare island closed and other factors created a huge tanking of vallejo's economy the only thing that kept that place afloat was the financial benefit of retaining the 'marine world' classification. that park also had massive lawsuits from adjacent housing during the planning stages that caused concessions by the developers to dramatically restrict what could/could not be done with portions of the land it sits on, hours of operation and types of activities (this was why, at least back then, the park was not permitted to be open late into the evening except on restricted occasions like it's 'fright nights' which still closed hours earlier than ones offered at other strictly amusement parks).

It was really easy to just wander to an exhibit and stumble upon a caregiver giving a talk.Don't know if it's still the case but pre six flags ownership the animals/aquatic life was the basis for HUGE tax breaks and special funding for the park. No there isn’t a way to purchase a reservation. Basically it meant that throughout the day there were animal caretakers at the different exhibits, generally providing some info, showing off some of the animals, and answering questions. Re: magic kingdom tickets when fully booked. Luckily the crowds were small enough that it didn’t seem to be an issue.Īlong with the regular shows, the park added a bunch of “Caregiver talks” to the lineup. The stadiums were encouraging social distancing only allowing guests in every 4th row, and I did see employees ask people to move. It looked like all of the parks normal animal shows were in operation, including the dolphin, tiger, and seal/sea lion shows. Some distancing markers in the theater, reminders to wear masks, and explanation as to why the caregivers don’t wear masks (Tigers don’t like ’em). The Odin’s Temple of the Tiger show that has been at the park for years was just like always. I did see one person with a map, so maybe at Guest Services you could request one? One of the downsides I found was that there didn’t seem to be any maps (which makes sense for sanitary reasons), so if you weren’t familiar with the park it might be a little trickier to find everything.
